Pakistan not a soft target: Shah Mehmood Qureshi

Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Indian rulers consider Pakistan a soft target but Pakistan is not a soft target.

He was presiding over a high level meeting on global corona virus situation and national and regional security situation here Thursday.

Moeed Yousuf, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (PM) on national security, foreign secretary Sohail Mehmood, senior officers of foreign ministry and senior military authorities attended the meeting.

The repercussions of corona virus, peace and security situation in the region and different foreign policy matters came under discussion in the meeting. The efforts on ensuring abiding peace in Afghanistan were also discussed therein.

Foreign minister said Pakistan will continue to play its reconciliatory role with good intent for lasting peace in Afghanistan.

He said corona virus is spreading fast in the country and we as a nation will have to defeat this virus by adhering to precautionary measures. All resources are being utilized to curb corona virus epidemic.

He went on to say on one side world is engaged in dealing with deadly corona virus epidemic and on the other side India is out to undermine peace and stability in the region through its Hindutva policies.

Indian occupation forces are subjecting the innocent and unarmed Kashmiris to atrocities who are facing the ever worst curfew and lock down since the last 10 months. The list of Indian crimes against the humanity is becoming longer.

He underlined the international community will have to take notice of this situation for the sake of peace and security in the region. Voices are being raised from within India against Modi government. Indian extremist face has been exposed in the world, he added.

We will continue to raise voice against Indian barbarity, he remarked. All the countries in the region are wary of India, he held.

He warned if India commits any folly then we will give a befitting response to it.

Amit Shah and Modi should tell what is happening in Ladakh, he questioned. Why Indian media is keeping mum. International media is saying India has surrendered its territory therein. You committed mischief in disputed territory therefore, the reaction was but natural, he underscored.
