LAHORE, Nov 18 : Lahore High Court (LHC) while hearing the miscellaneous petition filed against JUI-F plan-B has sought reply from the government.
Justice Amir Bhatti of LHC took up for hearing petition filed by a citizen Irfan Ali Monday. The petitioner has made federal government, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman and others as respondents.
Nadim Sarwar advocate gave arguments on behalf of the petitioner.
The stance was taken before the court that Maulana Fazl ur Rehman on November 12 had directed all his workers to block roads of all the cities in Punjab and other parts of the country. Through plan-B call has been given to block all the roads including Punjab-Sindh road, Rahim Yar Khan and Indus Highway which is sheer breach of article 15 of the constitution.
The petitioner took the plea it is constitutional obligation of the government to safeguard the rights of the citizens.
The court has been requested to nullify Maulana Fazl move for blocking the roads by declaring it illegal and unconstitutional.
It is pertinent to mention that every day key highways are blocked in the country under Plan B of JUI-F and this way the traffic stands disrupted.
Owing to Dharna in Noshki, trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan became suspended a day before.
