International community will have to perform effective role to save eight million Kashmiris from Indian oppression: Qureshi
Islamabad, April 08: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has stated that the international community will have to perform an effective role to save eight million Kashmiris from the Indian oppression.
In a telephonic conversation with his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Hussein on Wednesday, he said unarmed Kashmiris have been facing the worst curfew for eight months. The Minister said now as the world is focused to deal with coronavirus pandemic, India is bent upon changing demography in occupied Kashmir by amending rules and regulations regarding domicile, which is a violation of not only international laws but also against the UN resolutions.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views regarding the spread of coronavirus pandemic and the efforts being made to contain it.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi informed his Malaysian counterpart about Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s call for restructuring of loans of developing countries to enable them effectively deal with the pandemic.
Welcoming Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s call for restructuring of loans, the Malaysian Foreign Minister indicated to raise the matter with G-20 countries. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and discussed spread of coronavirus pandemic and the measures to contain it.
