Islamabad, April 13: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday rejected the plea of private schools seeking suspension of notification of a 20 percent reduction in fees of private schools.
According to media reports the Justice Aamir Farooq conducted hearing on the plea of private schools. The lawyer of private schools argued that government-issued notification of fee reduction without consultation with schools.
During the hearing, Justice Aamir remarked that under current circumstances private schools should have reduced their fees themselves and if this decision is reviewed then a decrease in fees may go to 15 % or rise to 50%.
The IHC judge turned down the petition and sent it back to the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA).
