IHC expresses dissatisfaction over govt reply in the case of Ali Nawaz Awan appointment as chairman LGC
Islamabad High Court (IHC) has expressed dissatisfaction over federal government reply in case of appointment of Ali Nawaz Awan special assistant to Prime Minister (PM) as chairman Local Government Commission (LGC) and sought complete record about his appointment
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani took up the case for hearing Tuesday.
The court also directed additional attorney general to give final arguments on Thursday.
Kashif Malik advocate counsel for mayor Islamabad completed his arguments.
Kashif Malik said in his arguments that Ali Nawaz appointment had not taken place in transparent manner. Only name of Ali Nawaz Awan was sent for approval for appointment of chairman local government commission. Who proposed name of Ali Nawaz Awan in connection with appointment as chairman local government commission could not become known. Appointing Ali Nawaz Awan as chairman local government commission is the best example of clash of interests.
Record pertaining to press conference of Ali Nawaz Awan and Raja Khurram Nawaz MNA against mayor Islamabad Ansar Aziz was presented in the court.
Advocate General Islamabad told the court there are no clear laws about appointment of chairman local government commission.
