Federation has withdrawn appeal plea filed against the restoration of Mayor Islamabad.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench comprising Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Ghulam Azam Qambrani took up the case for hearing.
Additional Attorney General Tariq Khokhar appeared on behalf of the government. Kashif Ali Malik advocate represented the mayor Islamabad.
Additional Attorney General told the court that appeal against the restoration of mayor Islamabad was filed against his advice. Earlier the federation had directed him to file appeal and now he has received directives for not giving arguments on the appeal plea.
Interior ministry had suspended Sheikh Ansar Aziz for 90 days on May 17 and the latter had filed appeal in IHC against his suspension.
A single bench of IHC led by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani had ordered for his restoration.
Sheikh Ansar Aziz was suspended on corruption charges.
The counsel told the court that single bench issued stay order on suspension of Sheikh Ansar Aziz without meeting the legal formalities.
The court was requested to nullify the single bench verdict on restoration of Sheikh Ansar Aziz.
Additional Attorney General while withdrawing the appeal plea took the stand he was not consulted while filing appeal plea.
