Army chief meets Afghan president Ashraf Ghani

Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa accompanied by Director General (DG) ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hameed reached Kabul Tuesday on an important visit.
According to Afghan media Pakistan special envoy to Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq is also with the army chief.

Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa along with his delegation met Afghan president Ashraf Ghani in presidential palace at Kabul. A set of issues ranging from bilateral matters, regional security situation, Afghan peace process to Pak-Afghan borders matters came under discussion during the meeting.

Sources said the visit is aimed at reviewing the progress in different matters with reference to Afghan peace process because US special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad had visited Pakistan several days before this visit and he had met army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa. During the meeting the two had exchanged views on taking forward the Afghan peace process.
